  2. WARNING:  This  BBS software  is beta  testing ONLY.  You  may  use  it and
  3. distribute it, at  your  own risk!   This software comes with NO guarantees
  4. whatsoever. It is up to YOU to keep your system running the latest version.
  5. If you fall behind  in updates, you  may end  up getting  stuck  without  a
  6. conversion to the next upgrade!   If you cannot deal with this, do not like
  7. the idea of beta testing, or cannot deal with bugs of whatever size, please
  8. do NOT run this software until it is officially released to the public.

  12. Notes on 12-25 and later;
  13.  
  14.    The new multiple subscription (validation) levels REQUIRE that you
  15.    go configure them!  Level A, if you'll notice, is your NEW USER
  16.    level. Set it up accordingly.  Config option "G".
  17.  
  18.    NO!  The PCR ACS FUNCTION IS NOT BROKEN!  It's ZZ now instead
  19.    of simply Z!

  21. Notes on 12-04 and later:

  23.         I KNOW THERE ARE BUGS in the FILE RATIOS.  There is plenty
  24.     of extended logging info now, USE IT and report the bugs!

  27. Upgrading to 11-29-92:
  28.  
  29.   The transfer windows DO NOT WORK!  Please do not report it as a bug.

  31.   Hit CTRL-HOME for help on the new sysop keys.

  33.   The pipe system has changed from a variable 1-3 digit system to the
  34.   following 2 digit system:
  35.  
  36.   00-15  Set foreground colors.
  37.   16-23  Set background colors.
  38.  
  39.   They are set indepently.

  42.   Delete EVENTS.DAT.  You'll have to redo your events.

  45.   Rename *.MSG to *.ASC. and go through your message bases checking the
  46. status of the private flag.  You may not want it, and it defaults to
  47. ON in most cases. See Whatdone #421 for more information.

  51. Run RGUPDATE included with this package to update from 7-9-92 to 8-10-92.
  52. Your user file formats have been changed. Many old utilities will not work.

  54. WARNING: Make sure you are using a version of Renemail later than 7-9-92!
  55.

  57. You'll need to reconfigure ALL your echomail bases' addresses if updating
  58. from 6-27 or earlier to 7-08 or later!!    Go to Network configuration
  59. first and define your AKAs.   You *MUST* use Renemail 7-08-92 or later
  60. with this version!!

  62. If you are updating from something older than 4-15 beta, load up each
  63. node you run and configure your modem!   Your modem configs were lost!
  64.  
  65. Copy MENUCMD.MSG to your MISC directory; it provides online help
  66. for menu commands when editing menus!
  67.  
  68. Copy NODECHAT.MSG to your MISC directory for multinode chat help.

  70. Upgrading from older versions of Renegade beta:
  71.  
  72.   1) Anyone upgrading from anything up to 6-27-92 should run RGMFIX,
  73.      which fixes a slight bug in the message storage system.  It
  74.      will do no damage if run on a later version.
  75.  
  76.   2) If you are updating from something dated before 6-12-92, you must
  77.      get and run RGUPDATE to convert your message bases to the slightly
  78.      newer format to support internal netmail.  You must also obtain a new
  79.      RENEMAIL as stated above.

  81.   3) If your message base AREAS are messed up, rename your MBASES.DAT file
  82.      to BOARDS.DAT, obtain a new copy of and run TG25RG10, and answer "YES"
  83.      only to the SECOND question - it refers to "Message base listing"
  84.      conversion.

  86.   4) If you are upgrading from a version with an EXE file dated 03-12-92
  87.      12:50pm or EARLIER,  You must contact the author directly for an
  88.      appropriate conversion program!

  91. To convert from Telegard 2.x to Renegade Alpha:

  93.   1)  Install Renegade
  94.  
  95.   2)  Get Josh Lippy's TG2RG121 program and read it's documentation.
  96.       (or TG25RG10 if you're using 2.5i/k)

  98.   4)  READ WHATDONE COMPLETELY!  It describes ALL CHANGES and NEW COMMANDS.
